Slim Pickin’s is Bluegrass at its finest. This “all-star” Indiana-based Bluegrass band never disappoints! Audiences can expect to hear some of the best known Bluegrass favorites originally performed by greats such as Bill Monroe, Lester Flatt, Earl Scruggs, Ralph Stanley, and others. Slim Pickin’s will have you clapping, stomping your feet, and humming along before their performance is over.
Danny Wert, mandolin, guitar and bass, and Rick Rigdon, bass, are well known for their vocal harmonies, have played in several bands together including Able Grey and The Muleskinners, and have shared the stage with many of the best Bluegrass bands around including The Ralph Stanley Band, Jim and Jesse, Blue Highway, and The Lonesome River Band.
Brian Lappin, banjo, played and recorded with Jimmy Martin, the "King of Bluegrass" and is considered one of the finest banjo players around the Midwest.
Tobe Woodrough, fiddle, mandolin, and guitar, also sings lead, tenor, and baritone and has been fiddlin’ around since he was two.
A staple of the Mid-West Bluegrass sound, Slim Pickin’s has performed at Indiana State Fair, Bill Monroe’s Bluegrass Festival, Little Eagle Creek Festival, Central Indiana Bluegrass Festival, Henryville Bluegrass Festival, Green Acres Bluegrass Festival, Mississinewa Reservoir Amphitheater, Hamilton County Fair, Morris Machine, and Verizon Wireless Music Center.
